Healing & Prayer
We have prayer ministers on hand at every worship service who would be happy to pray with you.
⊹ ⊹ ⊹
Our Healing Prayer Ministry at St. George’s Church was started by the Rev. (now Bishop) Nedi Rivera Moore in the late 1980s, and was expanded by the Rev. Connie White during her time with us. In 1997 Connie learned of the Order of St. Luke and encouraged a group of us to accompany her to their program at St. Mark‘s Church in Santa Clara. The group decided that OSL would be a very helpful support to our ministry and formed the Salinas Chapter in January 1998.
OSL is an international, interdenominational, organization of medical professionals, clergy, and lay people who believe that Jesus‘ ministry of healing should be a vital part of every Christian Church, and that Christian healing and competent medical practice are complementary to each other.

Order of St. Luke (Healing Ministry)
“Is any one of you sick? He should call the leaders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15)
The Order of Saint Luke is a non-denominational Christian healing ministry. It is the Order’s mission to take the healing touch of Jesus beyond the walls of the church building into hospitals, nursing homes, and into the greater community — anywhere people are in need. Through our work, we seek to create time that is not rushed, so that we may act as God’s presence, intentionally pouring out His love as prayer for the sick. We minister to those who are bound in guilt, so that they might confess their sins before God and be set free through the absolution that God has provided for us. We tend to those who will take the time, through counsel and prayer, to begin healing the painful memories of the past. If you would like to receive healing prayer from OSL, please contact us.

Healing, mass with anointing & laying on of hands
We gather for healing Mass with anointing at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays in the Chapel. There before the stain glass window reminding us of Jesus praying in the garden at Gethsemane. There we can pray for your healing and anoint you with holy oil. Our sacred text and stories often focus on the life of a holy woman or man who has been recognized by the Episcopal Church for their spiritual contribution to our world. Then we will celebrate the Mass and share communion.
We conclude with discussion and story sharing. On the fourth Wednesday, a free lunch for seniors follows at noon in the community room downstairs.

Christian Healing Center
This ministry is provided to all Christians regardless of denomination. While this is a ministry of a church in the Anglican denomination, the Christian healing ministry itself is focused only on the healing mission of Jesus Christ our Lord among us. There is no teaching or preaching that comes from a particular theological perspective. All Christians should be comfortable receiving this ministry, and experience proves that God wants to heal His children and does so here for those who come with open hearts.
